Stormwater
Stormwater discharges are generated by runoff from land and impervious areas such as paved streets, parking lots, and building rooftops during rainfall and snow events that often contain pollutants in quantities that could adversely affect water quality.
The City of Kingston is working to control Stormwater Runoff into its nearby waterways including the Rondout Creek, Esopus Creek and the Hudson River.
Stormwater is one of the leading causes of pollution in our nearby water bodies. Simple ways to reduce your stormwater impacts include; limiting fertilizer and pesticides, washing cars away from storm drains, and do not dump anything down storm drains.
