In preparation for the African American Festival, held on Sunday, August 25, and in the interest of assuring the safety of all residents and visitors to this area, certain traffic restrictions will be in effect.
Therefore, I, Steven T. Noble, Mayor of the City of Kingston, by the power vested in me by the Charter of the City of Kingston declare:
On Sunday, August 25, 2019, Broadway, from W O’Reilly Street to W Strand will be closed to vehicular traffic from 12:00 p.m. until such time as the last parade participant has passed or until such time as Kingston Police Department personnel has deemed it safe.
On Sunday, August 25, 2019, there will be “Parade Parking” only on Andrew Street, from Broadway to Levan Street.
There will be no parking on the following streets/areas on Sunday, August 25, from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.: Abeel Street from Broadway to Wurts Street – both sides; Broadway from Spring Street to East Strand – both sides; Rondout Landing (E Strand) from Mariner’s Harbor to the Maritime Museum – both sides; 25 spaces, nearest to the Visitors Center in the parking lot under the 9w bridge, across from Hudson River Cruises (Rip Van Winkle)
From 9:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on August 25, Rondout Landing (East Strand), between Broadway and the entrance of Hudson Valley Landing will be closed to traffic.
The following streets will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, August 25, from 10:30 am until 7:00 p.m.:
Broadway from Spring Street to East Strand; West Union Street from Post Street to Broadway; Rondout Landing (E Strand) from Broadway to the Maritime Museum
