Mayor Steve Noble launches new process for attracting and recruiting volunteers for Kingston's Boards, Commissions and Committees
Mayor Noble announced on Tuesday a new process for appointing local individuals to serve on various boards, commissions and committees.
Effective immediately, all individuals interested in serving on a board, commission and/or committee must complete an application and submit it to the Mayor's office for review. This information will be used in determining which individuals are best suited to serve, based on their qualifications, backgrounds, skills and interests.
"I am confident that this new process will help us recruit individuals who have a strong desire and ability to serve, but who may have felt they did not have the opportunity before. Our boards and commissions will benefit from these new and well-qualified volunteers."
A full list of boards and committees that are expected to have openings in 2016 can be found below. Individuals who currently serve on boards or commissions will be expected to complete applications when their terms expire.
For more information, please contact the Mayor's Office at 334-3902.
